AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI AUTHORIZING TI•IE CITY
ADMINISTRATOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH THE U.S.
DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE FOR A LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT BLOCK GRANT AND
AMENDING THE 1998-99 ANNUAL BUDGET BY INCREASING REVENUES, AUTHORIZING
EXPENDITURES OF ADDITIONAL GRANT FUNDS AND UNAPPROPRIATED REVENUE.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI,AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1. The City Administrator and City clerk are hereby authorized and directed to
execute an Agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice for a crime prevention safety grant to
{ be used by the Police department for the purchase of equipment.
Section 2. The agreement shall be substantially the same in form and content as the
Agreement attached as Exhibit I.
Section 3. There is hereby appropriated the amount of$28,633.00 as shown in Exhibit
II, attached hereto.
Section 4. There is hereby budgeted from available balances and additional revenue
sources, revenues in the amount to $28,633.00 as shown in Exhibit 11, attached hereto.

Section 5. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the date of
passage and approval.
