ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, CODIFYING THE CITYS
SPAY/NEUTER PROGRAM FOR CATS AND DOGS.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS
FOLLOWS:
Spc Ljon 1. Section 5-18(D) of the Code of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, is hereby
amended as follows:
Sec.5-18.Redemption of impounded animals;disposition of unredeemed animals.
D. Pivrinc�.hafl be niadc fb, 0, ate,ing of all dogs mid cats adopted.All dogs and cats
adopted from the animal shelter shall first be spayed or neutered.Adopters shall pay the fee as set out
in paragraph(C)above.Adopters shall take the animal to their veterinarian for rabies inoculation,and
the veterinarian shall bill the city for such service.At the appropriate time the adopter will take the
animal to a veterinarian participating in the city's program for spaying or neutering. Participating
veterinarians shall bill the city according to the fee set out below:
