AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AN AMENDMENT TO THE PUBLIC TRANSIT
OPERATING GRANT AGREEMENT WITH THE MISSOURI DEPARTMENT OF

' TRANSPORTATION.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS
` FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute
an amendment to the Public Transit Operating Grant Agreement with Missouri Department
of Transportation.
Section 2. The amendment shall be substantially the same in form and content
as that amendment attached hereto as Exhibit A.
t Section 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the date of
its passage and approval. r

Dear Mr. Hood:
f Enclosed are contract amendments increasing your state general revenue_ assistance
for fiscal year 1997-98. This increase was approved by the Governor and legislature
to help you hire and retain competent drivers. This additional funding is available
through June 1998, only, but it can help cover expenses for the entire fiscal year that
began. July 1, 1997. If you are not able to spend all of the funding increase, please
notify us immediately. Final requests for reimbursement involving the FY '98 funds

must be received no later than July 8, 1998. We will have a like amount available for
July 1998, through June 1999.
Please execute and return an ordinance and all three copies of the enclosed contract
amendments.
