AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI,AMENDING SECTIONS 17-19 AND
17-22 OF CHAPTER 17 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, BY
AMENDING SAID SECTIONS TO ELIMINATE THE REQUIREMENT THAT BUSINESS LICENSE
APPLICANTS PRODUCE DOCUMENTATION SHOWING THAT THE BUSINESS IS NOT
INDEBTED TO THE STATE OR THE CITY.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:

Sections 1. Sections 17-19 and 17-22 of Chapter 17, Article li (Business or Occupation �
License Taxes) of the Code of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, is hereby amended as follows: {

Sec. 17-19.License year and due date. 1
The license year for merchants and businesses taxed under the license based on annual grass receipts ,
shalt be July i of each year and end on June 30 of each succeeding year. All such licenses shall be due i
and payable on or before September 1 of each succeeding year. Unless otherwise provided,the license year
for merchants and businesses taxed on any other basis tinder the provisions of this article shall begin on j
January 1 of each year and end on December 31 of the same year. All licenses other than those based on
annual gross receipts shall be due and payable on or before March I of each license year. Renewal of the
business license will not be granted unless application includes the sales tax license number issued by the
State of Missouri and Department state�
shon ing the applicant is not indebted to the State of Missouri or the City of Jefferson for any taxes of any
kind. -
Sec. 17-22. Refusal to issue when unpaid obligations due city or state. 4
No license required under the provisions of this article shall be issued by the finance department
to any person until all personal taxes,merchams'or manufacturers'ad valorem taxes,license or permit feces {
due and wtpaid,and all penalties thereon,and any other financial obligations due from the person to the city, #
