AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI,AMENDING CHAPTER 3 OF
THE CODE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI BY ADDING A NEW SUBPART C
OF SECTION 3-3 RELATING TO OFF-PREMISE DIRECTIONAL SIGNS IN C-1 ZONES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Chapter 3 of the Code of the City of Jefferson,Missouri is hereby amended
by enacting a new subpart C of Section 3-3, relating to off-premise directional signs, which
shall read as follows:
. Sec.3-3.Off-premise directional signs.
C. An off-premise directional sign shall be allowed in a C-1 district for property
which has less than sixty (60) feet of frontage on a public street and which is located behind
buildings with frontage on the street,subject to the following limitations:
The proposed sign shall be within three hundred (300) feet of the
premises to be identified by the directional sign.
2. The proposed sign shall be no closer than three hundred forty(340)feet �4
to an arterial road.
3. The proposed sign shall be at least one hundred (100)feet from any
residential district.
4. No existing off-premise sign is located within seventy-rive(75)feet of S
frontage of the proposed sign.
5. The proposed sign is directional and does not advertise product(s)or
service(s).

6. The maximum size and height of the proposed sign permitted is:
a. Thirty(30)square feet per sign face;and
b. Six(6)feet tall,no more than five(5)feet wide. No variance as
to size and/or height is permitted.
7. No variance shall be granted by the Board of Adjustment.
