AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, VACATING AND
) DISCONTINUING THE ALLEY RIGHT-OF-WAY FOR A PORTION OF DUNSCOMB'S
SUBDIVISION IN THE CITY OF JEFFERSON.
WHEREAS, it has been shown to the Council of the City of Jefferson, Missouri,that
the owners of land adjacent to and between Lot Nos. 1 thru 6 and Lots 7 and 9 of
Dunscomb's Subdivision of Inlot Nos. 482 and 483 of the City of Jefferson as per Plat of
Record in Plat Book 1, Page 12,of the Cole County Recorder's Office;said twelve(12)foot
wide alley being more particularly described in Section 1, have petitioned the City Council
to vacate a right-of-way;and
WHEREAS, it has further been shown that it would not inconvenience the public or
the citizens of the City to discontinue a portion of the alley right-of-way of for public use as
described in Section 1 of this Ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF

JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Council of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, hereby declares it
necessary, reasonable and proper to discontinue as a right-of-way a portion and forever
vacate the following described right-of-way in said City:

All of a twelve(12)foot wide alley adjacent to and between Lot Nos. 1 thru
6 and Lots 7 and 9 of Dunscomb's Subdivision of Inlot Nos.482 and 483 of
the City of Jefferson as per Plat of Record in Plat Book 1, Page 12, of the
Cole County Recorder's Office; said twelve (12)foot wide alley being more
particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at the southwesterly corner of said Lot No.1, said corner being
on the northerly line of East McCarty Street; thence northeasterly along the
westerly lines of said Lot Nos. 1 thru 6,200 feet 3 inches to the northwesterly
corner of said Lot No. 6, said corner being on the southerly line of a twenty
(20) foot wide alley; thence northwesterly along the southerly line of said
twenty(20)foot wide alley, 12 feet to the northeasterly corner of said Lot No.
9;thence southwesterly along the easterly line of said Lot No. 9,across a ten
(10)foot wide alley previously vacated by Ordinance No. 10023 of the City
of Jefferson,and continuing southwesterly along the easterly line of said Lot
No. 7, 200 feet 3 inches to the southeasterly corner of said Lot No. 7, said

r thence southeasterly along the northerly line of said East McCarty Street, 12
feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING, f
Section 2. The statutory right of reversion in the owners of the abutting property is
hereby confirmed, as is provided by the laws of the State of Missouri, and the Mayor and
the Clerk of the City are hereby authorized to execute all necessary instruments required
to confirm the reversionary rights of the owners of property abutting on the area vacated, t
as described in Section 1 of this ordinance, in the right-of-way vacated.
Section 3, This Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its
passage. '
