AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, VACATING AND
DISCONTINUING AN ALLEY RIGHT-OF-WAY FOR A PORTION OF THE 900 BLOCK OF
WASHINGTON STREET.

WHEREAS, it has been shown to the Council of the City of Jefferson, Missouri,that
the owners of the southerly half of a 10 foot 1 %inch wide north/south alley adjacent to and
west of Lots One thru Four of Schmidt's Subdivision of Outlot No.2 of the City of Jefferson,
as per plat of record in Plat Book 1, Page 107, of the Cole County Recorder's Office as
described in Section 1; and
WHEREAS, it has further been shown that it would not inconvenience the public or
the citizens of the City to discontinue a portion of the alley right-of-way of for public use as
described in Section 1 of this Ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
JEFFERSON, MISSOURI,AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Council of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, hereby declares it f
necessary, reasonable and proper to discontinue as a right-of-way a portion and forever
vacate the following described right-of-way in said City:
The southerly half of a 10 foot 1 '/2 inch wide north/south alley adjacent to
and west of Lots One thru Four of Schmidt's Subdivision of Outlot No. 2 of
the City of Jefferson, as per plat of record in Plat Book 1, Page 107, of the
Cole County Recorder's Office;being more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at the southwest corner of Lot Four of said Schmidt's
Subdivision;thence west 10 feet 1 '/2 inches along the north line of a 20 foot
wide east/west alley to the west line of said north/south alley,the intersection
of said alley lines being the southeast corner of a parcel as described in Book
326, Page 864,of the Cole County Recorder's Office;thence north along thQ
west line of said north/south alley, said west line also being the east line of
said parcel in Book 326, Page 864, 90 feet 4 inches to the south line of the
north half of said alley as previously vacated by Ordinance No. 5697 of the
City of Jefferson;thence east 10 feet 1 '/Z inches to a point on the west line
of Lot Two of said Schmidt's Subdivision, said west line also being the east
line of said north/south alley; thence south along the west lines of said Lot
Nos. Two thru Four, the east line of said north/south alley, 90 feet 4 inches i
to the POINT OF BEGINNING. t

!, ) Section 2. The statutory right of reversion in the owners of the abutting property is
hereby confirmed,as is provided by the laws of the State of Missouri, and the Mayor and
the Clerk of the City are hereby authorized to execute all necessary instruments required
to confirm the reversionary rights of the owners of property abutting on the area vacated, t
as described in Section 1 of this ordinance, in the right-of-way vacated.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its
i passage.
