f AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, ESTABLISHING PRIMARY ;
AND GENERAL ELECTION DATES IN THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, FOR 1998.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Pursuant to Chapter 115 RSMo., Municipal Elections are hereby
established as follows:
(a) A Primary Election shall be held Tuesday, February 3, 1998, if needed.
(b) A General Election shall be held Tuesday, April 7, 1998.

(c) The City Clerk shall notify the County Election Authority of the candidates
` for office and election dates.
t: (d) One member of the City Council from Wards One, Two, Four and Five, and
two members from Ward Three, shall be elected at the General Election on
t Tuesday, April 7, 1998. ;
Section 2. Declarations of candidacy for party candidates and petitkins for the
nomination of independent candidates must be filed with the City Clerk betwe�.in 8:00 a.m.

on Tuesday, October 21, 1997, and 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 18, 1997.

Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage
and approval.
