c_ AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AMENDING THE
PERSONNEL POLICY MANUAL.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Personnel Policy Manual as adopted by Ordinance 11990 is
hereby amended by the deletion of Section 15-1(a), Health and Life Coverages, and
the addition of the following paragraph in lieu thereof:
(a) Full-time and regular part-time employees with benefits will be enrolled,
without cost, in the basic group life and health coverage program. The basic life
insurance coverage is the employee's salary if an even thousand, or rounded to the
next higher thousand. Employees may double their life insurance coverage by paying
a premium on the basis of age and salary. Current tax laws make any benefits above a
certain amount taxable income to the employee. Optional life insurance at lower set
coverages is available for dependents. Health insurance coverage for dependents of
} full-time employees and part-time employees with benefits is optional to the employee.
The City will pay thirty percent of the premium rate for dependent health coverage.
' When both spouses of a married couple are employed by the City in full time or part
time positions with benefits, one spouse shall pay the same dependent health coverage
premium as other employees unless granted a special rate by virtue of their joint
employment prior to November 1, 1993 and will retain that rate plus any dollar
increases other employees experience for dependent coverage as long as: (1) they
`Y retain dependent coverage; (2) they are jointly employed by the City; (3) the City
remains self insured; and (4) the plan does not offer dependent coverage options of
spouse only or children only coverage.
Section 2. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect as of January 1, 1994.
