ORDINANCE NO. 12014
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AMENDING THE CODE
OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, BY AMENDING ARTICLE II SECTIONS
22-46, 22-47, 22-48 and 22-49 OF CHAPTER 22 AS IT PERTAINS TO DISABLED
PARKING.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Code of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, is hereby amended by
amending Article II Sections 22-46, 22-47 and 22-48 of Chapter 22 by changing the
word "handicapped"to "disabled," throughout the Sections.
Section 2. The Code of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, is hereby further
amended by amending Article II Section 49 of Chapter 22 to read as follows:
Sec. 22049. Signs to designate spaces.
For the purpose of enforcement of this Division, a parking space
shall be considered to be properly designated as a parking space for the
disabled if it is identified by a reasonably visible sign upon which is
inscribed the international wheelchair accessibility symbol and the words
"Reserved Parking," "Disabled Parking" or words having a similar
meaning.

Section 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the
date of its passage and approval
