ORDINANCE NO. 12016
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE CODE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, BY
ADDING A NEW SECTION 29-30 PERTAINING TO INSTALLATION OF AND
REIMBURSEMENT FOR BACKWATER VALVES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS
FOLLOWS:
action 1. The Code of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, is hereby amonded by the
addition of a new section 29-30 pertaining to backwater valves which shall read es follows:
Section 29-30 Backwater Valves Installation Rebate Program.
The City hereby establishes a rebate program for owners of residential property
within the City who meet all the following criteria:
p) The building shall have experienced at least one prior sewer backup.
� ) The owner has had installed a device to prevent backups.
3 C) The building was not previously required to have had installed a similar
device by any applicable code.
et' Building has not previously participated in the rebate program.
r Owner submits an itemized invoice or receipt for the purchase and
installation of the device after June 1, 1993.
The amount of the rebate shall be $300.00 or the amount submitted, whichever
is less.
Section 2. The rebate program shall be re-evaluated one year from the date of
approval of this Ordinance.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the date of its
passage and approval.
