provisions of thid ordinance shall, upon conviction before the
Mayor's Court of said Town „be 6ubject to be fined in the sum of
not more than One (100) Dollars or to be imprisoned for not more
than thirty (30) Days, either or both or any part of either or
both in the, discretion of said Court.
SECTION 4 All ordinance, or parts of ordinances conflicting
with the provisions of this :ordinance are hereby repealed.

The regular meeting of Council was held at 8 :00 p.m. in the
Council Chamber, and was attehded by, Mayor McMillan, who pre-
sided, and Councilmen May, Kreitzer, Tant, Mayer, Farrell, Haar,
Sam L.Varnedoe and Gordon Saussys and Town Attorney Dutton.,E.J.@liver.
Ma Varnedoe offered to buy the proposed issue of bonds to be
voted on on July llth, at par, plus a premium of i 500.00, and
also to pay for the preparing of the bonds and the legal work
in connection therewith. Mr. Varnedoe was excused after which
the matter was discussed. Councilman Tant moved that action
be deferred until after the election, Councilman Mayer seconded
and the motion passed unanamously.

Councilman Kreitzer informed Council that Vr. Don Nichols was
ready to go ahead the beach erosion project justas soon as the
bonds were voted on and passed, he stated that it would be
necessary to employe a consuitjrng engineer and a clerk to do
the buying. Councilam Mayer stated that M.W.Dixon, had offered
his services as engineer at $ 1.00 per year, He suggested that
all applications be investigated before appointing anyone,
and made a motion that any action be deferred until after the
election, Councilman Haar seconded and the motion passed un-
anamously,
Mr. Oliver petitioned that the fine of 3100.00 imposed on J.A.
Taylor in ,Recorder's Court be revoked. Mr. Oliver was excused
and after discussion it was decided to let the Recorder use his
own judgement in the matter.
Attention as called to the inability of thepublic to get drink-
ing water at any public place. The matter was referred to the
Sanitary Committee for handling.
Town Attorney Dutton presented 3 invoices covering three trips
to Atlanta in Connection Town work,arnounting 3 105.00. Councian
Tant moved that they be paid, councilman Haar seconded. The motion
passed, those voting yes; Tant, Haar, May, Kreitzer, Mayers Not'_
voting; Barrel /.

Kr. Al.Coatsworth petitioned for permission to operate a loud-
speaker on Tybrisa Pavilion, offered to give the Town advertising,
and pay 2.50 per week license. No action was taken at this time.
Councilman Tant moved that the following persons be appointed
managers for the election to be held on Monday, July llth,
Councilman `Mayer seconded and the motion passed unanamously;
Mitchell R.Young,
Mrs. Margaret Southard,
Mrs. 'Sarah L.Oirry.
Councilman Tant moved that the following resolution be adopted,
• Councilman Mayer seconded and the motion passed unanamously;
RESOLJTION
WHEREAS, on the tenth (10th) day of June, 1938, an election was
called bybthe Mayor and Councilmen of Savannah Beach, Tybee
Island, for the issuance of bonds. 6aid election to be held on
the eleventh (11th) day of July, July, 1938, and
WHEREAS, Charter of Town of Savannah "Beach, Tybee Island, requires
said election be supervised and managed by three (3) freehcilders,
all of whom must be duly qualified voters of said Town and shall
be named by the Mayor and Councilmen of said Town at least ten
(10) days prior to date of election.
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Mayor and Councilmen of
Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, in Council assembled and it is hereby
resolved by authority of the same that the Mayor and Councilmen
of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, does now name the three freeholders,
Mitchell R.Young, Mrs. Margaret Southard, Mrs Sarah L. Cu rry, all
of whom are duly qualified voters of Said Town to manage and su-
pervise the bond election, which will be held on the eleventh
(11th) day of July, 1938, between the hours of ten (10) o'clock
in the forenoon and five(5) o'clock in the afternoon.
A comparative statement of finances of the Town showed that for
the same period, 1938 was behind 1937, $ 2678.00, it was suggested
back licenses and taxes be collected, Councilman Haar suggested
reducing the license on trade vending machines.
It was decided to take a recess until 5:00 p.m. July llth on
motion made by Councils Mayer, seconded by Councilman Tant, and
passed.

The recessed meeting of July 6th was resumed to -day at 6:00
p.m. in the Council Chamber, and cgs attended by Mayor McMillan,
who presided, and Councilman Kreitzer, May, Myer, Farrell, Haar,
Tant, Town Attorney Dutton, and the the three managers of the
election Mitchell R.'oung, Mrs. Margaret Southard, Mrs. Sarah
L. Curry.
