GOVERNOR'S COUNCIL ON ALCOHOLISM AND DRUG ABUSE
FISCAL GRANT CYCLE JULY 2014 - JUNE 2019
WHEREAS, the Governor's Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse established the Municipal Alliances
for the Prevention of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse in 1989 to educate and engage residents, local
government and law enforcement officials, schools, nonprofit organizations, the faith community, parents,
youth and otter allies in efforts to prevent alcoholism and drug abuse in communities throughout New
Jersey.
WHEREAS, The Borough Council of the Borough of Carteret, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey
recognizes that the abuse of alcohol and drugs is a serious problem in our society amongst persons of all
ages; and therefore has an established Municipal Alliance Committee; and,
WHEREAS, the Borough Council further recognizes that it is incumbent upon not only public officials but
upon the entire community to take action to prevent such abuses in our community; and,
WHEREAS, the Borough Council has applied for finding to the Governor's Council on Alcoholism and
Drug Abuse though the County of Middlesex;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Borough of Carteret, County of Middlesex, State of
New Jersey hereby recognizes the following:
1. The Borough Council does hereby authorize acceptance of finding for strategic plan for the
Borough of Carteret Municipal Alliance grant for fiscal year 20 50 (July 1 2020 —September
30 in the amount of:
DEDR $600.00
Cash Match $150.00
In -Kind $450.00
2. The Borough Council acknowledges the terms and condj N ns for roistering the Municipal
Alliance grant, including the adrnh' five co fi o a and audi enuirements.

AMENDMENT TO THE CONTRACT BETWEEN THE COUNTY OF MIDDLESEX AND
BOROUGH OF CARTERET FOR SERVICES TO BE USED FOR ALCHOLISM AND DRUG
ABUSE PREVENTION EDUCATION TO MIDDLESEX COUNTY RESIDENTS FUNDED BY
THE GOVERNOR'S COUNCIL ON ALCOHOLISM AND DRUG ABUSE (GCADA)
WHERAS the Middlesex County Office of Human Services entered into contract with Borough
of Carteret for the provision to provide substance abuse education and prevention programs and
initiatives to Middlesex County residents, per resolution #19- 946 -R, dated July 18, 2019.
The undersigned hereby agree to amend the contract as follows:
The amount of total contract shall be increased by $600 to be used for municipal alliance
coordination.
2. Borough much provide 25% Cash Match and 75% Iri -Find Match of $600
The funding shall be used to provide coordination from July 1, 2020 through September
30, 2020 based on stipulation outlined in the original contract.
All other terms and conditions in the original contact shall remain in full force and effect through
September 30, 2020.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have caused this contact amendment to be signed
and attested to by their proper corporate or governing officers and affixed the corporate seal on the
day set forth in the amendment.
