ORDINANCE NO. '12136
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AMENDING SECTION
17-207 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, PERTAINING TO THE
PROCEDURE USED TO ESTABLISH A GROSS RECEIPTS TAX LEVY.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS
FOLLOWS:
,Y ect'on 1: Section 17-207 of the City Code of the City of Jefferson is hereby
amended to read as follows:

Section 17-207. Annual Review of Levy.
41 -eeasb-yearPrior to the adoption of the City's budget each year there
shall be a Public Hearing to determine -a the levy on utility gross receipts tax as
1 provided for herein for the subsequent city fiscal year, taking into consideration but
not limited to such factors as, the City's fiscal condition, prior year collections,
legal limits, and any tariff adjustments. Such public hearing shall be called by the
nGe-GGmmWee City Council. After a public hearing, if the rate to be levied for the
subsequent year is different from that currently levied, the council shall by ordinance
establish a new gross receipts tax levy for the subsequent fiscal year. The existing
gross receipts tax levy shall continue if no change in the rate is directed by the
Council.
Section 2. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the
date of its passage and approval.
