. AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING RETENTION OF THE LAW FIRM OF HENDREN
AND ANDRAE FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING LEGAL SERVICES RELATED
TO THE DEFENSE OF THE LAWSUIT FILED IN THE CIRCUIT COURT OF COLE
COUNTY, MISSOURI, BY MICHAEL CRAIGHEAD, M.D., ET AL., AGAINST THE CITY
:} OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, ET AL.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to
execute engagement letter with the law firm of Hendren and Andrae providing legal
representation in the defense of a lawsuit, Case Number CV194-781 CC, filed in the
Circuit Court of Cole County, Missouri, by Michael Craighead, M.D., John Matthews,
M.D., and Morris Trout against the City of Jefferson, Missouri, B. Allen Garner as City
Counselor, and Phyllis Powell as City Clerk.
action 2: The engagement letter shall be substantially the same in form and
content as those attached hereto as Exhibit A.
Section 3: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its
passage and approval.

Dear Allen:
This will confirm that my firm has been retained to represent
the City of Jefferson, Phyllis Powell,, and you,, in the lawsuit
filed by Michael Craighead, John Matthews, and Morris Trout,
concerning river boat gambling in Jefferson city. I will be
primarily responsible for handling this matter, and we will bill
the City at the rate of $75. 00 per hour Plus expenses.
If the above is agreeable, would you please return a copy of
this letter to me executed by the appropriate city official?
