Town of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, in council assembled, that
each of said bonds authorized to be issued in said election shall
be signed by the Mayor Ofl said Town, the corporate seal of said
town shall be attached to of improssed upon said bonds, and attested
by the Clerk of Qouncil; the coupons to be attached to the bonds
shall not be authenticated otherwise than by facsimile signature
of the Mayor and Clerk of Council etched, lithograped or engraved
upon the coupons.
There being no further b:hsiness Council adjourned subject to the
call of the Mayor.

The Mayor informed the several representatives of th- _, nd
houses who were present that bids would be recieved for
bonds, Norris and Hirschburg submitted a bid of $30,111.0 lefigE ed
Varnedoe, Chisholm & Co submitted a bid of $51,515.00 and
accrued interest; Councilman Tant moved that the bid submitted
by Varnedoe, Chisholm & Co., be accepted; Councilman May r,

A special meeting of Council was held to -night at 8:00 p.m. in the
Council Chamber, and was attended by Mayor McMillan, who presided, and
Councilmen Kreitzer, tayer,Tant,Haar,Parrell,Town Attorney Dutton and
Sam Varnedoe,Chauncey Battey,Henry Carter,Freeman Jelks,Julian Space,
George Sturges.
The meeting was called for the purpose of opening bids on the 330,000.00
issue of bonds and the selling of same.

meeting of the Mayor and Councilmen of the Town of Savannah
Beach, Tybee Island, is called and will be held at the Council
Chamber at eight o'clock p.rn. on the 26th day of July, 1938,
for the following business, to -wit:
Opening sealed bids for the purchase of the follow-
ing bonds of the Town of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island, of the
following =mod series, to -wit:
1. Public Improvement Bonds, in the sum of $28,000.00.
2. Town Hall Bonds, in the -sum of $2,000.00.
This special meeting is called in compliance with and
conformity to that certain resolution of the Mayor and Council
men of the Town of Savannah Beach, Tybee Island adopted and
approved at a meeting,of CQuncil,on the day of July,
1938, at which last namedd meeting said resolution was adopted
authorizing the Mayor and Councilmen of the Town of Savannah
Beach, Tybee Island to advertise for sealed bids for the pur-
chase of the aforementioned bonds and to provide for the award-
ing of thebonds to the purchaser thereof, all on the 1st day
of August, 1938, and the said advertisement having been made
in the Savannah Evening Press of Savannah, Georgia.
Councilman Tant moved that the following resolution b adirted,
Councilman Mayer seconded and the motion passed unanarn usly;
WHEREAS, RESOLUTION.
WHER!!AS, in accordance with a resolution heretofore adopted and
anadvertisement appearing in the Savannah Evening Press, Cbun-
cil met in special meeting this 26th day of July 1938, at eight
o'clock p.m. after proper and legal notice given to each Coun-
cilman for the purpose of receivi*g sealed bids for the sale
of $ 28,000.00 worth of bonds, known and designated asPUBLIC
IMPROVEMENT BONDS, and sale of $ 2,000.00 in bonds, known awl
designated as TOWN HALL BONDS, said bonds being named, described
and designated in the notice of said special meeting, and
after reading slid special notice of said meeting „sealed bids
were duly opened by the Clerk of Council of the Town of Savannah
Beach, Tybee Island and the bidders or representatives of said
bidders, and,
WHEREAS, the following bids were submitted to -wit:

For your $30,000.00 Town of Tybee, Georgia, 4% bonds,
dated August 1, 1938, interest payable semi - annually on Feb-
ruary and August 1st, issues and maturities as follows:
$28,000.00 public improvement bonds for the purpose of building
a seawall of concrete with abutments; $ 29,000.00 of which will
be dated August 1, 1938, and maturing $1,000.00 each year from
August 1,'1939 to 1958, inclusive; $8,000.00 dated August 1, 1938,
andmaturing $ 500.00 each year fmom August 1, 1943 to 1958, inclu-
sive; and $2000.00 Town Hall Bonds dated August 1, 1938, and
maturing $500.00 each year from August 1,1939 to August 1, 194a
inclusive, we will pay the sum of Thirty Thousand one hundred
Eleven Dollars and accrued interest.
It is our understanding thatbwe shall be furnished, withiut
charge, witaheuverchantable legal opinion, also, we shall be
furnished expense to us, the bonds properly signed and in

A special, meeting of Council was1 eld to -day at 9:00 p.m. in
the Council (iaamber, and was attended by Mayor McMillan, who
presided, and Councilmen Kreitzer, May, Mayer, Tant, Farrell,
Haar and Town Attorney Dutton.
The meeting was Balled for the following purposes;
Passing an Ordinance amending the Bcuilding code,% t `;
" Plumbing code,
" Electrical code.
Collection of past due and current licenses.
Financial status of Town.
Ektension of time for notifying property owners of
past due taxes.
Year petition of Mrs. Lillian Gordon protesting against
nuisance in front of her home.
Letter Blom Capt. Gabbett, U.S.C.G. in reference to

Councilman Mayer moved the adoption of the following ordinance.
Councilman Farrell seconded and the motion passed unanamously;
ORDINANCE.
AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED AN ORDINANCE CREATING BUILDING CODE FOR
THE TOWN OF SAVANNAH BEACH, TYBEE ISLAND, CREATING THE OFFICE
OF BUILDING INSSPECTOR, FIXING HTS COMPENSATION, PRESCRIBING HIS
DUTIES, PROVIDING FOR TEE PENALTY FOR TEE VIOLATION OF THIS
ORDINANCE AND FOR QTR PURPOSES.
Be it ordained by the Mayor and Councilmen of the Town of
Savannah Beach, Tybee 'eland in council assembled and it is hereby
enacted by the authority aforesaid that from and after the passage
of this ordinance all building permits issued for construction
or alterations or repairs within the limits of said town shall
be subject to the following conditions and restircions which
shall constitue the building code of the said Town of Savannah
Beach:
SECTION 1. The following provisions shall constitue and be known
as the building code and may be cited as such and presumptively
provides for all matters concerning, affecting or relating to the
construction, equipment, alterations, repairs or removal of
buildings or any structure whatsoever erected of to be erected
inthe town of Savannah Beach.
Unless existing buildings or structures are spreiffi ¢ally men-
tioned, the provisions of this code' shall apply only to buildings
or tructures hereafter erect.#d`` or altered.
SECTION 2. The Building Inspector, to be appointed by the Mayor,
