HomeMy Public PortalAboutr 20-173Poolurion of #4e Poxog4 of &r#exef, �K� J, #20 -173 Date of Adoptio November 5 2020 AUTHORIZING A PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING SERVICES CONTRACT WITH CME ASSOCIATES, FEE ESTIMATE FOR THE NJDOT FISCAL YEAR 2021 LOCAL FREIGHT IMPACT FUND WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret is in need of specialized engineering services in connection with the NJDOT Fiscal Year 2021 Local Freight Impact Fund; and WHEREAS, CME Associates, 1460 Route 9 South, Howell, New Jersey 07731, possesses the requisite experience and expertise to provide said services; and WHEREAS, CME Associates has submitted a proposal to provide said services at a total cost not to exceed $3,500.00; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and the Council have reviewed said proposal; and WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that funds are or will be available forsaidpmpose. Acct.# 0- 01 -20- 165 -254 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and the Council of the Borough of Carteret, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey, as follows: 1. The proposal from CME Associates for engineering services related to the NJDOT Fiscal Year 2021 Local Freight Impact Fund at a cost not to exceed $3,500.00 is hereby approved. 1 This action is approved as an award of a professional services contract pursuant to N.J.S.A 40A:11- 5(I)(a) in accordance with the Borough's Fair and Open Process as authorized by law. 3. A copy of this Resolution be forwarded to the Borough's Purchasing Department, the Borough Director of Engineering and CME Associates. This program provides aid to counties and municipalities for transportation projects that address the impacts of freight travel in local communities and on local transportation infrastructure. It is our understanding that the Borough wishes to submit for improvements to Blair Road and Federal Boulevard. This scope would serve as a continuation of previously awarded $3,000,000 LFIF grant for improvements to Minue Street and Milik Street. With this in mind we offer the following scope of services: 1. Preparation of the grant application on the NJDOT SAGE Website including • Project narrative; • Cost estimate; • Project photos; and • Technical Data, 2. Said fees will be based on the hourly rate or a fixed fee mutually agreed upon writing. The above - quoted fees will be in effect for a period of twelve (12) months from the date of this proposal; however, the fees on the hourly rate schedule are subject to change by January 1 of each year. Should you accept our fee estimate, kindly provide a purchase order or professional services resolution authorizing same.
