AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AMENDING CHAPTER 16,
UMAN RIQHja), SECTION 16-14, (DISCRIMINATION-IN FINANCING), AND SECTION
1 -15 (REFUSAL TO ACCEPT AS MEMBER OF REAL Es9jill SALES QRGANI-
ZATION), OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON BY THE ADDITION OF A
PORTION PERTAINING TO "HANDICAP" AND "FAMILIAL STATUS."
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Code of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, is hereby amended by the
addition of a portion of Chapter 16, (Human Rigj2ts), Section 16-14, (Discrimination in
Financing), pertaining to"Handicap" and "Familial Status" as follows:
Sec. 16-14. Discrimination in financing.
It shall be unlawful for any bank,savings and loan association,Insurance company
or other corporaflon, association,firm or enterprise,whose business consists in whole or in
part in the making of commercial real estate loans, to deny a loan or other financial
assistance to a person applying therefor for the purpose of purchasing, constructing,
Improving, repairing or maintaining a dwelling,or to discriminate against him in the fixing of
the amount,Interest rate,duration or other terms or conditions of such loan or other financial
assistance, because of the race,sex, religious affiliation, color,religion, handicap,familial
status, national origin or ancestry of such person or of any person associated with him in
connection with such loan or other financial assistance, or of the present or prospective
owners, lessees,tenants or occupants of the dwelling or dwellings in relation to which such
loan or other financial assistance is to be made or given.
B_ectiorl2. The Code of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, is hereby amended by the
addition of a portion of Chapter 16, (Human Rights), Section 16-15 , (Refusal to Accept as
member of RQaI Estate Sales Organization), pertaining to "Handicap" and "Familial Status"
as follows:
Sec. 16-15.Refusal to accept as member of real estate sales organization.
it shall be unlawful to deny any person access to,or membership or participation In,
any multiple listing service,real estate brokers!organization or other service organization or
facility relating to the business of selling or renting dwellings, or to discriminate against him
In terms or conditions of such access, membership or participation, because of race, sex,
religious affillaflon,color,religion, handicap,familial status, national origin or ancestry.
