HomeMy Public PortalAbout04-08-2013 Special Village Board MinutesVILLAGE OF PLAINFIELD SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES APRIL 8 , 2013 AT: VILLAGE HALL BOA RD PRESENT: M.COLLINS , P.FAY, B.LAMB , G.PECK, J.RACICH, D.RIPPY, AND M.BONUCHI (7:02 P.M.). OTHERS PRESENT: B.MURPHY, ADMINISTRATOR; M.GIBAS, VILLAGE CLERK; A.PERSONS, PUBL IC WORKS DIRECTOR; M.GARRIGAN, PLANNING SUPERVISOR; T.PLECKHAM, MANAGEMENT SERVICES DIRECTOR; AND K.GRECO , POLICE COMMANDER. CALL TO ORDER, ROLL CALL/PLEDGE Mayor Collins called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Roll call was taken, Trustee Bonuchi arri ved at 7:02 p.m., all other Trustees were present at the time of roll call. Mayor Collins led the pledge to the flag. There were approximately 6 persons in the audience. BUSINESS MEETING 1) APPROVAL OF AGENDA Trustee Fay moved to approve the Agenda. S econded by Trustee Lamb. Vote by roll call. Fay, yes; Lamb, yes ; Peck, yes; Racich, yes ; Rippy, yes ; Bonuchi, absent . 5 yes, 0 no , 1 absent . Motion carried. At 7:02 p.m. Trustee Bonuchi arrived. 2) GALAXY SOCCER CLUB (COUNTY CASE) Trustee Fay moved to authorize the Village President to send a letter of support to the Will County Board for a Special Use for a soccer club at the polo grounds on 119 th Street, east of Route 59. Seconded by Trustee Lamb. Mr. Garrigan stated that the applicant is request ing a Special Use to operate a soccer club at the Polo Club on 119 th Street in unincorporated Will County. The site is within the Village’s planning area. The applicant has been operating tournaments at the subject site for the past six (6) years and now is seeking a Special Use for the facility. Staff believes that Will County has incorporated sufficient stipulations to ensure that the proposed use will have no negative impact on any of the adjacent neighbors. Vote by roll call. Fay, yes; Lamb, yes; Peck, yes; Racich, yes ; Rippy, yes ; Bonuchi, yes . 6 yes, 0 no. Motion carried. Trustee Fay moved to adjourn the Special Meeting. Seconded by Trustee Lamb . Voice Vote. All in favor, 0 opposed. Motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 7:0 8 p.m. Michelle Gibas, Village Clerk
