HomeMy Public PortalAboutGAC Minutes 1990 05/08GOLF COURSE ADVISORY COMMITTEE MINUTES MAY 8, 1990 Committee members present: Max Williamson Ted Whiteman Also present were: John Drips Omar Hovde Craig .Jackson Dave Engen De Ett McCarty Howard Skidmore Mr. Laidlaw Minutes from the April 10th meeting were approved as written: New Business: TEE SIGNS: Bruce Taggert from Meadows Valley Sign Co. presented his version of sign construction. The committee was impressed with the overall design and the quality materials. A 3" thickness by 6' high sign for all 18 holes would cost approximately $6,000. The committee will give this proposal consideration in the future. PETITION FOR ROUTING OF NEW HOLES: A petition by several local golfers suggests an outside consultant be hired to determine the routing of new holes following completion of the clubhouse. The committee suggests the holes be reassigned in this order: FRONT 9 13 14 15 16 17 11 12 5 6 (Existing) 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 (New) BACK: 9 7 8 9 1 2 18 10 3 4 (Existing) 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 (New) Williamson motioned to adopt this configuration. This will be presented to the mens' and ladies' associations. McCarty seconded, all were in favor. The motion passed unanimously. CLUBHOUSE CONSTRUCTION: Engen reported to the committee his meeting with the McCall Golf Foundation and discussed concerns the foundation and the golf committee have with regard to the construction of the clubhouse. Efforts will be made toward and efficient means of communication in order to effectively expedite charge orders with Engen as the liason for the committee and Rich Hormaechaea as liason for the Foundation. CART ROUTE FROM PRIVATE RESIDENCE TO CLUBHOUSE: Th.= committeP r"i _'F = _.{ _ _`MF! _'_ nc:ern a F'o=_ i at ed with t r !;41'P carts traveling to and from properties surrounding the golf course. The committee agreed to observe the cart traffic following the opening of the .new clubhouse and then make a decision preceeding the 1991 season DRIVING RANGE: Jackson reported to the committee the current status of the driving range. To his knowledge, the grounds were extremely wet and a starting date has been delayed. A well has been drilled and the teeing area has been roughed in. Next meeting is set for June 12th, 1990, 7:00 P.M. in the Golf Course Clubhouse. Meeting was adjourned at 10:15 Dave alltEngen,, airman 44
