AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, VACATING AND
DISCONTINUING THE RETAIN I CONRAD STREET AND LOCATED
NORTH OF MISSOURI BOULE VARD BETWEEN
STREET.
WHEREAS, it has been shown to the Council of the City of Jefferson,
Missouri,that
the owners of land adjacent to and abutting upon a twenty foot wide east-west alley located
approximately 160 feet north of Missouri Boulevard between Conrad Street and Beck Street
in the City, have petitioned the City Council to vacate a retained utility easement; and
I WHEREAS,it has further been shown that it would not inconvenience the public or
the citizens of the City to discontinue the utility easement in the alley located north of
Missouri Boulevard between Conrad Street and Beck Street for public use as described in
Section 1 of this Ordinance; and C
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
JEFFERSON, MISSOURI,AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Council of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, hereby declares it
necessary, reasonable and proper to vacate and discontinue the easement rights in a
twenty foot wide east-west alley located approximately 160 feet north of Missouri Boulevard S
between Conrad Street and Beck Street in the City, said location described as follows:
BEGINNING on the easterly line of Beck Street at the intersection of the
easterly line of said Beck Street and the southerly line of a 20 foot wide east-
west alley as previously vacated by Ordinance No. 8224 of the City of
Jefferson, in December of 1969, said point of commencement being
approximately 160 feet northerly of the intersection of said easterly line of
Beck Street and the northerly line of Old highway 50 West (now Missouri
Boulevard); thence running easterly along the southerly line of said vacated
alley,271.65 feet, more or less,to the westerly line of Conrad Street;thence
northerly along the westerly line of Conrad Street, 20 feet to the northerly line
i of said vacated alley;thence westerly parallel with the southerly line of said
vacated alley, 271.65 feet, more or less, to the easterly line of

Section 2. The statutory right of reversion in the owners of the abutting property is
hereby confirmed, as is provided by the laws of the State of Missouri,and the Mayor and
the Clerk of the City are hereby authorized to execute all necessary instruments required
to confirm the reversionary rights of the owners of property abutting on the area vacated,
as described in Section 1 of this ordinance, in the alley right-of-way vacated.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and after its
passage.
