AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI,AMENDING ORDINANCE
12544 PERTAINING TO CITY ELECTIONS.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS "
FOLLOWS: �.
Section 1. Section 1, subparagraph (b) of Ordinance 12544, enacted by the
# Council of the City of Jefferson, Missouri on October 21, 1996, is hereby amended as
follows:
(b) A General Election shall be held Tuesday,April 81,1997.

Section 2. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the date of {
its passage and approval.

Dear Mrs. Powell;
In reference to our conversation about the April General
Municipal Election, we are making the following clarification.
Due to insufficient notification from the Secretary of State's f
Office, we were not aware that the election day for the General j
Municipal Election Day had been changed. According to Section.
115. 121 .3, the election day for the election of political
subdivision and special district officers shall be the first
Tuesday in April each year; and shall be known as the "General
Municipal Election Day".
According to this change, it would be appropriate for the City of
iJefferson to change their records to show that an election will
be held on Tuesday, April 1 , 1997 for the purpose of electing I .
! City Officials.
