RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING FAIR AND OPEN
CONTRACT FOR HAYWARD AVENUE SANITARY SEWER
PUMP STATION COMMINUTOR REPLACEMENT
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret has a need for specialized services with regard to
replacement of the Hayward Avenue Sanitary Sewer Pump Station Comminulor as a fair
and open contract pursuant to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 19:44A -20.5 et seq; and
WHEREAS, the Borough has, through a "fair and open" process, solicited quotes for the
receipt of proposals; and
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret retained the services of Rapid Pump & Meter
Service Co., Inc.; and
WHEREAS, the above mentioned vendor completed and submitted all required
docwnentation; and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Council of the Borough
of Carteret authorizes the Finance Department on behalf of the Mayor and Borough
Council to issue and execute a purchase order for the foregoing to the above vendor
through the Fair and Open Process, with funds certified available by the Chief Financial
Officer; mid
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the CFO has been authorized to arrange to pay for
the foregoing in accordance with the terms of the purchase order not to exceed
$33 ,850.00. Account # 0- 05 -55- 501 -201

Furnish and install Muffin Monster at
Hayward Avenue Pump Station
As per your request and our site inspection, Rapid Pump & Meter Service Co., hic. is pleased to offer
the following proposal for your approval.
The scope of work sliall be as follows:
The existing Muffin Monster has been removed and the Comminutor has been out of service for an
extended period. We are assuming all the existing remaining components for mounting and wiring the
Muffin Monster are still in place and in good working order. If they are found to be in an unusable
condition, they are not included in this proposal and will be charged on a time and material basis.
I . Furnish the labor, material and equipment required to perform Lockout/ Tagout existing power
supply.
2. Furnish the labor and equipment to perform a confined space entry (as required).
3. Furnish the labor and Utility crane to rig Muffin Monster into place.
4. Furnish the labor, material and equipment required to install one (1) new (5 -HP) 30005 Muffin
Monster including new 5 -HP Motor XP, new Reducer and new extended Shaft with bona N
Seals.
Furnish the labor, materials and equipment required to connect the new Muffin Monster to the
existing Control Panel and existing power supply.
6. Furnish the labor, material and equipment required to remove the Lockout / Tagout and check
Muffin Monster for proper operation.

7. Furnish the labor material and equipment to test and assure proper operation of the Muffin
Monster.
The cost of the above scolm of work shall be ..................... ............................... „. $33,850.00
PLEASE NOTE: 1. All work will be done during normal working hours.
2. All work shall be performed in a workmanlike manner and with quality
materials.
3. All electrical work will be performed under our electrical license and in
accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local ordinance.
4. All work performed within the pit (wet well) shall be performed in
accordance with Hazardous Confined Space Entry Procedures.
All work is quoted on a straight time basis. If overtime is required, this would be at additional cost.
Sales taxes, licenses, permits and /or fees, if any, are not included in this proposal.
Terms: 1/3 Upon Receipt of Order, 1/3 Upon Start of Work, 1/3 Upon Completion
