ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, REPEALING SECTION
1-17 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, DEFINING THE
EXISTING CITY BOUNDARY AND ENACTING A NEW SECTION PERTAINING TO THE
SAME SUBJECT.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 71.012.2 RSMo, 1994,the City Council of the City
of Jefferson was, on December 19, 1996 and January 19, 1997 presented with verified
petitions requesting that the city annex the following described unincorporated area of land
contiguous to the corporate city limits:
Part of Neutzler's Early American Subdivision,Section One, in the County of Cole,
Missouri, as shown by plat of record in Plat Book 10, Page 40, Cole County
Recorder's Office, said subdivision being situate in part of the Northwest Quarter of
Section 23, Township 44 North, Range 12 West, Cole County, Missouri, more
particularly described as follows:
From the northwest corner of the Northeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of said
Section 23; thence S06°40'15"E, along the Quarter Quarter Section Line, 150.11
feet to the northerly right-of-way line of Yorktown Drive, and the POINT OF
BEGINNING for this description;thence continuing S06'40'1 5"E, along the Quarter
Quarter Section Line, 370.27 feet to the northerly right-of-way line of Plymouth Rock �.
Drive;thence S85 031'47"W, along said northerly right-of-way line,23.64 feet to the
westerly line of said Neutzler's Early American Subdivision, Section One; thence
N04 028'13"W,along said westerly line,370.00 feet to the northerly right-of-way line

WHEREAS, the petitions requesting said annexations were signed by all fee
interests of record in all real property located within the area proposed to be annexed; and
WHEREAS, after giving due and legal notice, as required by law,the City Council
did, on February 3, 1997, hold a public hearing concerning the annexation of the
unincorporated area of land described above;and
WHEREAS, at the above described public hearing,the City Council did determine
that this annexation was reasonable and necessary to the proper development of the City;
and further,did determine the city has the ability to furnish normal municipal services to the
f area within a reasonable length of time; and
WHEREAS, no written objection to the proposed annexation was filed with the City
Council in the fourteen (14)days following the public hearing.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
JEFFERSON, MISSOURI,AS FOLLOWS:
' Section 1. Section 1-17 of the Code of the City of Jefferson, Missouri is hereby
repealed and a new Section 1-17 is hereby enacted,which shall read as follows:

The limits and boundaries of the city are extended,defined and declared to
be as follows, in the counties of Cole and Callaway,in the State of Missouri:
