AUTHORIZING 2021 RECYCLING AGREEMENT
WITH WASTE MANAGEMENT RECYCLING OF NEW JERSEY, LLC
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret is in need of entering a one (1) year extension of
the agreement for the disposal of recyclable materials, including, sorted newspaper,
mixed newspaper, corrugated cardboard (OCC) and commingled bottles, cans, and
plastics; and
WHEREAS, Waste Management Recycling of New Jersey, LLC, Greater Mid - Atlantic
Area, has submitted a proposal to provide said recycling services; and
WHEREAS, the Borough has determined that the proposal from Waste Management
Recycling of New Jersey, LLC, is the most advantageous, considering all relevant factors
including price; and
WHEREAS, Waste Management Recycling of New Jersey, LLC, has extensive expertise
in the field of recycling of the foregoing commodities and related services and has
demonstrated a proven reputation in the field.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor *and Council of the Borough
of Carteret as follows:
1. That the Mayor and appropriate Borough officials are hereby
authorized to execute and enter into a one (1) year extension of the
contract with Waste Management Recycling of New Jersey, LLC,
for the disposal of the above described recycling
materials/commodities by the Borough of Carteret in a form
acceptable to the Borough Attorney.
2. That this contract is awarded without competitive bidding as so
authorized by the Local Public Contracts Law as a contract
covering the disposition of recyclable materials /commodities.
Adopted this 10" day of December, 2020
and certified as a true copy of the
original on December 11, 2020.
