ORDINANCE NO. 3 a:> 1
AN ORDINANCE INCORPORATING BY REFERENCE THE
INTERNATIONAL BUILDING CODE, 2000 EDITION, WITH
APPENDICES C, 0 AND I; THE INTERNATIONAL
RESIDENTIAL CODE, 2000 EDITION, WITH APPENDICES E,
G, HAND J; THE INTERNATIONAL PLUMBING CODE, 2000
EDITION; THE INTERNATIONAL FUEL GAS CODE, 2000
EDITION; THE INTERNATIONAL MECHANICAL CODE, 2000
EDITION, WITH APPENDIX A; THE ICC ELECTRICAL CODE,
2000 EDITION; THE NATIONAL ELECTRIC CODE, 2002
EDITION; THE INTERNATIONAL PROPERTY
MAINTENANCE CODE, 2000 EDITION; THE
INTERNATIONAL ENERGY CONSERVATION CODE, 2000
EDITION; AND THE INTERNATIONAL PRIVATE SEWER
DISPOSAL CODE, 2000 EDITION, AND REPEALING
ORDINANCES NUMBER 7,13,14,15,78,79,80,165, 166,
167, 184, 227, 228, 229, 230 AND ALL OTHER
ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF OTHER ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE GOVERNING BODY OF THE CITY OF BEL AIRE,
KANSAS:
Section 1. Incorporatinq International Codes
There is hereby incorporated by reference the International Building Code, 2000
Edition, with Appendices C, 0 and I; the International Residential Code, 2000 Edition, with
Appendices E, G, Hand J; the International Plumbing Code, 2000 Edition; the International
Fuel Gas Code, 2000 Edition; the International Mechanical Code, 2000 Edition, with
Appendix A; the ICC Electrical Code, 2000 Edition; the National Electric Code, 2002
Edition; the International Property Maintenance Code, 2000 Edition; the International
Energy Conservation Code, 2000 Edition; and the International Private Sewer Disposal
Code, 2000 Edition, of the International Codes, 2000 Edition, prepared and published in
book form by the International Conference of Building Officials, 5360 South Workman Mill
Road, Whittier, California. No fewer than three (3) copies of said Codes shall be marked
"Official Copy as adopted by Ordinance No. 381 ," to which shall be attached a copy of
this Ordinance, and filed with the City Clerk to be open to inspection and available to the
public at all reasonable hours.
Section 2. Fees
All fees referenced in the Codes incorporated by reference herein shall be
established by Resolution adopted by the Governing Body of the City of Bel Aire, Kansas.
Section 3. Violation Penalties
Any person, firm or corporation who shall violate or otherwise fail to comply with any
of the provisions of the Codes incorporated by reference herein shall be guilty in the
Municipal Court of the City of Bel Aire, Kansas of a misdemeanor, punishable by a fine of
not more than $500.00 plus court costs or by imprisonment not to exceed 30 days in the
county jail, or by both such fine and imprisonment. Each day that a violation continues
shall be deemed a separate offense.
Section 4. ReDeal
Ordinances Number 7,13,14,15,78,79,80,165,166,167,184,227,228,229
and 230 are hereby repealed. All other ordinances or parts of other ordinances in conflict
herewith are repealed. However, any section of an existing ordinance not in conflict
herewith is not repealed and remains in full force and effect.
Section 5. Effective Date
This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its publication in the
official city newspaper.
