HomeMy Public PortalAboutORD11267 BILL NO. 89-64 SPONSORED BY COUNCILMAN OWENS ORDINANCE NO. //A 4 4 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, REPEALING SECTION 1-17 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, DEFINING THE EXISTING CITY BOUNDARY AND ENACTING A NEW SECTION PERTAINING TO THE SAME SUBJECT. WHEREAS, Cedar City and the City of Jefferson, Missouri, investigated the possibilities of consolidating the two cities ;< under the auspices of one; and WHEREAS, it was in the best interest of both cities to seek consolidation; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Jefferson adopted Ordinance 11123 which authorized the question "Shall the City of Jefferson, Missouri, and Cedar City, Missouri, consolidate?" to be placed on the ballot for the February 7, 1989; WHEREAS, The voters of the City of Jefferson, Missouri and the voters of Cedar City, Missouri approved the issue of consolidation placed before them on the February 7, 1989, election and as the effective date of the consolidation is July 1, 1989. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Section 1-17 of the Code of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, is hereby repealed and a new Section 1-17 is hereby enacted, which shall read as follows: 4 See. 1-17. City boundaries. The limits and boundaries of the city are extended, defined and declared to be as Follows, in the counties of Cole and Callaway, in the State of Missouri: Beginning in the center of the Missouri River at a point on the extension northerly of the westerly line of Private Survey #2680; thence southerly along the said northerly extension and the westerly line of Private Survey #2680 to the southeasterly corner _ of Private Survey #2701; thence S 350 03 ' 39" W, 1220.26 feet to the southwesterly line of Robinson Road; thence southeasterly along said Robinson Road, 439.50 feet; thence southeasterly along said Robinson Road on a curve to the right having a radius of 1106.31 feet and an arc distance of 243.435 feet, (the chord of said being S 460 53' 53" E, 242.94 feet) ; thence S 41° 561 53" W, 600.00 feet; thence N 480 03' 071' W, 612.33 feet; thence southwesterly in a direct line to the southerly right-of-way line of U. S. Route #50, at Station 225+00 [Mo. Project F-1 (12) ] ; thence westerly along the southerly right-of-way line of the aforementioned U.S. Route 50 to the following described point: Beginning at the southwest corner Of the northwest quarter of the southwest quarter of Fractional Section 21, Township 44 North, Range 11 West in the County of Cole," Missouri; BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section ] . The Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute an agreement with Taube Welding and Machine Ship for metal and machine work for all departments of the City of Jefferson. Section 2. The agreement shall be substantially the same in form and content as that agreement attached hereto as Exhibit A. Section 3.
