ORDINANCE NO. 1113619
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AMENDING ORDINANCE
11289 PERTAINING TO ANNEXATION BY ALTERING THE EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, Ordinance 11289 was duly passed and approved by the
City Council on August 21, 1989; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance 11289 provided for the annexation to be
effective on December 31, 1990; and
WHEREAS, the issue of annexation must be approved by the
voters following approval of the Circuit Court; and
WHEREAS, due to the number of residents within the proposed
area who must be served with process and the vagaries of the Court
system it may not be possible to have the issue voted on prior to
December 31, 1990.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 7 of Ordinance 11289 is hereby amended to
read as follows:
Section 7. The annexation shall be effective immediately
upon approval by the voters.
Section 2. This ordinance is a technical correction designed
to avoid potential confusion. All other sections of Ordinance
11289 shall remain in full force and effect.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval.
