AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AMENDING AND
MODIFYING SECTION VII OF ORDINANCE NO. 4883 RELATING TO THE AGE AT
WHICH RETIREMENT BENEFITS ARE PAYABLE FOR FIRE DEPARTMENT PERSONNEL
COVERED BY THE FIREMEN'S PENSION FUND.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI,
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section VII of Ordinance 4883 is hereby repealed
and a new Section VII is enacted in lieu thereof to read as
follows:
Any member of the fire department in service and having
twent -four years or more service in the department, of

which the last ten years must be continuous, and for
those hired after November 1, 1989, who has also reached
the age of fifty-five, may file with the board an
application for retirement on pension also setting forth
a time, not less than thirty nor more than ninety days
after filing of the application, at which he desires to
be retired, and though his service has been discontinued
during such period of notification, he shall be retired
by the Board as of the time desired, and shall be paid
monthly for life out of the fund a retirement pension of
one-half his regular monthly salary.
Section 2. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after the date of its passage and approval.
