AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, ADOPTING AND
ENACTING A NEW CODE FOR THE CITY OF JEFFERSON MISSOURI,'''``• ```
ESTABLISHING THE SAME; PROVIDING FOR THE REPEAL OF CERTAIN
ORDINANCES NOT INCLUDED THEREIN; PROVIDING FOR THE MANNER OF
AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING SUCH CODE; AND PROVIDING WHEN SUCH CODE `
AND THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BECOME EFFECTIVE.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI,
AS FOLLOWS•

Section 1. The Code of Ordinances, consisting of Chapters 1
to 35, each inclusive, is hereby adopted and enacted as "The Code
of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, " which shall supersede all
general and permanent ordinances of the City adopted on or before
February 6, 1990, to the extent provided in Section 2 hereof. '
Copies of the Code are on file in the office of the City Clerk. '`'-r1`"'.'
Section 2. All provisions of such Code shall be in full force
and effect from and after the date this Ordinance is passed and 'sn '.;>j
approved, and all ordinances of a general and permanent nature of
the City adopted on final passage on or before February 6 1990 a`
and not included in such Code or recognized and continued in force �;;;-•:ass;;,.,;,.
by reference therein, are hereby .repealed from and after the
effective date of such Code.

Section 3. The repeal provided for in Section 2 hereof shallx'' .;
not be construed to revive an ordinance `
y or part thereof that has E�f�=�, <:..•
been repealed by a subsequent ordinance which is repealed by this
ordinance.

Section 4. Unless another penalty is expressly provided, a
violation of an provision. of such Code or an �.klr
Y P y provisions of any
rule or regulation adopted or issued pursuant thereto, shall beAr
punished by a fine of not more than five hundred dollars ($500.00)
or by imprisonment for up to three (3) months or by both such fine
and imprisonment, as provided in Section 1-13 of such Code. s r 4
Section 5. Any and all additions and amendments to such Code, ? ±rg
when passed in such form as to indicate the intention of the
governing body to make the same a part of such Code, shall be
deemed to be incorporated in such Code, so that reference to such f ' t$tE
Code shall be understood and intended to include such additions and
amendments. {
Section 6. In case of the amendment of any section of such
Code for which a penalty is not provided, the general penalty as
provided in Section 4 of this Ordinance and in Section 1-13 of such
Code shall apply to the section as amended, or in case such
r amendment contains provisions for which a penalty, other than the <'
aforementioned general penalty is provided in another section in =i

the same chapter, the penalty so provided in such other section ;
