ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH ROBINSON 'S
CLEANERS FOR CLEANING OF UNIFORMS FOR SPECIFIED CITY DEPARTMENTS.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI,
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and
directed to execute an agreement with Robinson's Cleaners for
cleaning of uniforms for specified City departments. The amount
of the contract shall not exceed $18, 317. 00.
Section 2 . The agreement shall be substantially the same in
form and content as that agreement attached hereto as Exhibit A. Vy
Section 3 . This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after the date of its passage and approval.

UNIFORM CLEANING CONTRACT ,:

1990, by and between the City of Jefferson, Missouri, municipal
corporation, hereinafter referred to as "City, " and Robinson's
Cleaners, hereinafter referred to as "Contractor. "

'f WHEREAS, The City is in need of obtaining cleaning services
for City employees ' uniforms; ; and
r" WHEREAS, Contractor is willing to enter into this Agreement
:j with respect to his employment and services upon the terms and ; z
conditions herein set forth,

1. Scope of Services • The scope of services for cleaning `' '
R: services for City employees ' uniforms shall consist of the

following:
' a. Police Department uniforms, 401 Monroe Street

(1) Service will be provided three times per week with
pick up at the Police Station, 401 Monroe Street. '"A
v (2) Clothes to be delivered on a rack with hangers.
Emergency pick-up will be provided.
tr, (4) Uniforms will be given military pleats.
(5) Uniforms to be returned within two working days
` after pick-up.
b. Planning & Code Enforcement (Animal Control Division) ,

., (1) Employees will bring clothing to Contractor's place
of business, and will pick up clothing at place of

C. Department of Transportation (Parking Division) , 201 '
Madison Street.
(1) Service will be provided two times per week with
pick-up at 201 Madison Street.

d. Transit Division, 820 East Miller Street.
(1) Service will be provided two times per week with
pick-up at 201 Madison Street.

(2) Clothes to be returned within two working days

e. City will provide identification on clothing when it is
picked up at City's buildings .
f. Contractor will be responsible for any damages to
uniforms through negligence on its part. ' '

2 . Contract Period. This contract shall be in effect from
September 11, 1990 through September 10 , 1991
3 . Contract Amount. The amount of the contract shall be
$18, 317 .00

4 . Payment. Payment shall be made to Contractor by City upon f : ?
submission of an itemized statement following completion of the
project.
5. Indemnity. Contractor agrees to indemnify and hold harmless `*
the City for any and all damages, injuries, actions, costs, tl+y ,y,{
attorneys fees and other expenses whatsoever arising out of the
P erformance of said work whether the property or persons damaged rn
are the servants and employees of the Contractor or third parties
in no manner connected with said work. ��
6. Insurance. Contractor agrees to obtain and maintain :

A. Workmen's Compensation Insurance for all of its employees
to be engaged in work under this contract.
8. Contractor's Public Liability Insurance in an amount not
1 : less than $1, 000, 000 for all claims arising out of a
4 single occurrence and $100,000 for any one person in a
single accident or occurrence, except for those claims
governed by the provisions of the Missouri Workmen's •
Compensation Law, Chapter 287, RSMo. , and Contractor's
Property Damage Insurance in an amount not less than
$1, 000,000 for all claims arising out of a single A;
;t accident or occurrence and $100, 000 for any one person in
a single accident or occurrence.
' C. automobile Liability Insurance in an amount not less than
$1, 000,000 for all claims arising out of a single
accident or occurrence and $100, 000 for any one person in "+

D. Subcontracts - In case any or all of this work is sublet, r,r

' E. The Certificates of Insurance furnished to the City
showing proof of compliance with these insurance
requirements shall contain a provision that coverage

` . 7 . Failure to Perform. Should Contractor fail to provide ¢;
, k services as set forth pursuant to this contract, or fail to meet :.

' .; the sole option of the City upon giving five (5) days written
notice to Contractor.
8. Cancellation. This contract shall be subject to cancellation
+; by the City at any time following fifteen (15) days notice.
9 . Notices. All notices, consents, authorizations, requests anda

k, statements hereunder shall be deemed to have been properly given if
delivered by and or mailed by first class United States mail, ,
postage prepaid, if to the City at 320 E. McCarty, Jefferson City,
Missouri 65101, and if to the Contractor to 1729 W. Broadway .
Columbia, MO 65203 .
