AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AMENDING SECTION
7-242 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, BY REVISING
THE MEMBERSHIP OF THE CABLE QUALITY COMMISSION.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS
FOLLOWS: i

Section 1. The Code of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, is
'u hereby amended to revise Section 7-242 to read as follows: `
Sec. 7-242 . Members, qualifications, terms.

A. The commission shall be comprised of nine (9) members and
one (1) alternate, all of whom shall be registered voters residing
in the City of Jefferson, Missouri. From among the nine (9)
members there shall be at least one resident from each ward with
no more than two members from the same ward. All members shall be ,s
;{ appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the City Council. One
member of the City Council shall serve as ex-officio members. The

council members so appointed shall serve a one (1) year term.
^` B. The alternate attending a meeting of the commission may p`
' take the place of and vote as a member of the commission when }
necessary to constitute a full nine (9) member commission.
C. The term of each of the members and the alternate shall be
for three (3) years; except, that the terms of the members and the
alternate shall be for varying periods so that succeeding terms .

D. No employee of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, nor any
41 person with any ownership interest in a cable franchise shall be

eligible for appointment to the commission.
E. The members of the commission shall elect a chairperson
from among their membership at the first meeting after all
appointments are made who shall serve for a one (1) year term. The
chairperson thereafter shall be elected for a one (1) year term a
each year at the first meeting after new appointments to the
commission have been made. Such other officers that the commission
deems necessary may be elected.
` F. A member of the city staff shall be assigned to assist the
commission in its duties. A representative from all Grantees '
business offices shall attend each meeting to provide clarification

G. The appointed members of the commission shall receive no
