� + BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS

FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Chapter 17, Article II, Business or Occupation
License Taxes, of the Code of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, isrx
hereby amended by changing Sections 17-19, 17-22 and 17-29 to read
as follows:

Sec. 17-19. License year and due date.

The license year for merchants and businesses taxed under the
license based on annual gross receipts shall begin July 1 of each
year and end on June 30 of each succeeding year. All such licenses
shall be due and payable on or before September 1 of each
succeeding year. Unless otherwise provided, the license year for
° merchants and businesses taxed on any other basis under the
provisions of this article shall be begin on January 1 of each year ;
and end of December 31 of the same year. All licenses other than
those based on annual gross receipts shall be due and payable on or
before March 1 of each license year. Renewal of the business
license will not be granted unless application includes the sales
' tax license number issued by the State of Missouri and a 11tax
clearance letter" issued by the Department of Revenue of the State
of Missouri, showing the applicant is not indebted to the State of
Missouri or the City of Jefferson for any taxes of any kind.

personal taxes, merchants' or manufacturers' ad valorem taxes,
license or permit fees due and unpaid, and all penalties thereon,
and any other financial obligations due from the person to the
' city, have been paid. Applicant must include the sales tax license
number issued by the state of Missouri and a tax clearance letter
from the Department of Revenue of the State of Missouri as evidence
that the debts have been satisfied.

section 17-29. Revocation of License.
Any license issued to any person who has made a statement
showing an incorrect annual gross receipts bracket for the
preceding license year or who has knowing made a false statement as
C' to any other condition or factor upon which a license should be
based, or who is licensed under any of the provisions of this
article and shall be convicted of a misdemeanor for violating any
of the provisions of such sections or any other provisioiis of this
Code or other ordinances of the city relating to the conduct or
operation of such business, may be revoked by the city council,
upon notice and hearing, for failure of the person to show cause
i why such license should not be revoked. The City Council may revoke
any business license issued pursuant to this Code, upon notice and
hearing, if the Council determines that the business has failed to
pay any tax of any kind due the state of Missouri or the City Of
j Jefferson. A new license shall not be issued to any person whose
license has been revoked within a period of one year from the date
or revocation of such license.
�µ Section 2 . This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
t from and after the date of its passage and approval.
