AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AUTHORIZING
THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH THE
STATE OF MISSOURI, DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES, TO ACCEPT
A GRANT FOR A NATIONAL REGISTER OF HISTORIC PLACES NOMINATION.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The Mayor and Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to
execute an agreement with the State of Missouri, Department of Natural Resources,
Division of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, to accept a grant in the
amount of $2,200 to be used for the preparation of a National Register of Historic
Places nomination for the Jefferson City Community Center, 608 East Dunklin
Street.

Section 2. The agreement shall be substantially the same in form and content
as that agreement attached hereto as Exhibit A.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the

1. SCOPE AND PURPOSE:
The City of Jefferson City will prepare a National Register of
Historic Places Registration Form for the Jefferson City Community
Center, 608 East Dunklin Street, Jefferson City, Cole County, k
tµ ; Missouri.
ACTIVITIES AND FUNCTIONS:

The project will entail preparation of a National Register of Historic
Places nomination for the Jefferson City Community Center, 608 East '` }.•
Dunklin Street, Jefferson City, Cole County, Missouri. The community "
center will be nominated for exceptional significance in the area of ,

Ethnic Heritage--Black and for any additional areas of significance
which may be determined by the State Historic Preservation Office in
consultation with the preparer. The nomination will be prepared in

accordance with instructions contained in National Register Bulletin `
tsx 16• Guidelines for Completing National Register of Historic Places
.0 Forms and National Register Bulletin 16: Supplement. In addition, -
N+. the nomination form will meet the Missouri State Historic Preservation
Office and Advisory Council on Historic Preservation Supplemental ,
National Register Requirements. The nomination will consist of two y
copies of a complete National Register of Historic Places Registration H
Form, one properly marked and labeled U.S.G.S. topographic quadrangle ?;
"} clearly showing the location of the nominated property, two sets of
txr 8"x10" black and white photographs and one set of color slides which
`;eft clearly illustrate the property, and one not-to-scale floorplan of the
nominated property with exterior dimensions labeled. In addition, the
applicant will submit the text of the nomination on computer diskette
in Word Perfect 5.0 or compatible format or in ASCII format.
Project work will be submitted and all payments made per the
milestone/payment schedule and project budget which follows.
