HomeMy Public PortalAboutORD11673 _,7 BILL NO, 91-113 SPONSORED BY COUNCILMAN WOODMAN ORDINANCE NO. 11673 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AMENDING CHAPTER 22, PARKING, STOPPING, STANDING, OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON BY AMENDING SECTIONS 22-20, 22-21, 22-22 AND 22-23 TO REQUIRE CARS PARKED IN FREE PARKING SPACES TO VACATE THE ZONE AFTER THE ALLOTTED TIME PERIOD HAS EXPIRED. BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Chapter 22, Parking, Stopping, Standing, of the Code of the City of Jefferson is hereby amended to read as follows: Sec. 22-20. Ten Minute Parking. No driver of a vehicle shall park such vehicle longer than ten minutes on any day except Saturday and Sunday or a legal holiday during hours pre scribed on any roadways as designated by ordinance. It shall be unlawful and a violation of this section for any person to park for successive periods of time within the same space or within the same parking zone. For the purpose of this and the three following sections, a zone shall constitute both sides of the street for a distance of a city block, which is defined as four hundred seventeen and one-half feet (417 1/2) feet, or any city parking lot. See. 22-21. One-hour parking. No driver of a vehicle shall park such vehicle for longer than one hour on any day, except Saturday and Sunday or a legal holiday, at any point on the roadways designated by ordinance. Sec. 22.23. Four-hour parking. No driver of a vehicle shall park such vehicle for longer than four (4) hours at any point on the roadways designated by ordinance. It shall he unlawful and a violation of this section for any person to park for successive periods of time within the same space or within the same parking zone. Section 2. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage and approval.
