ORDINANCE NO. 11737
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AMENDING
d SECTION 8-32 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, TO
REQUIRE APPLICANTS FOR DEMOLITION PERMITS TO PROVIDE PROOF
THAT ALL UTILITIES IN THE BUILDING HAVE BEEN DISCONNECTED.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI,
AS FOLLOWS:

Section 1. Chapter 8, Article III, ]Demolition of Removal of Buildings, of
the Code of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, is hereby amended by changing Section
8-32 to read"as follows:
Sec. 8-32. Permit.
It shall be unlawful to demolish or remove a building without first filing an
application with the Director of Planning and Code Enforcement or his designee in
writing and obtaining a demolition permit. A permit to demolish or remove a
building shall not be issued until a release is obtained from the utilities
having service connections with the building. The release shall state that
service connections and appurtenant equipment, such as meters and
regulators, have been removed or sealed and plugged in a safe manner.
Section 2. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the
date of its passage and approval.
