AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AMENDING THE
CODE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,MISSOURI,TO PROHIBIT CONSUMPTION

OF ALCOHOL WHILE DRIVING AND TO PROVIDE FOR THE REIMBURSEMENT
OF COSTS BY DEFENDANTS IN DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED CASES,
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI,
AS FOLLOWS:
P, Section 1. Chapter 19, Article IV, Vehicle Operation Generally, of the
Code of the City of Jefferson shall be amended by adding Sections 19-123 and 19-124
to read as follows: "
Sec.19-123 Consumption of alcoholic beverage while operating motor y
vehicle.
No person shall consume any alcoholic beverage while operating a motor s
vehicle on highways as defined in Code Section 19-1.

Sec.19-124 Penalty.
The maximum penalty for a violation of Section 19-123 shall be $200.00
[state law reference RSMo. 577.0171

Section 2. Chapter 19, Article IV, Vehicle Operation Generally, of the
Code of the City of Jefferson shall be amended by adding Section 19-125 to read as
follows:
Sec.19-120 Court Costs.
A. Upon a plea of guilty or a finding of guilty for a first offense of violating
Sections 19-98, 19-99 or 19-100 of the Code of the City of Jefferson the
municipal court may, in addition to imposition of any penalties provided by
law, order the convicted person to reimburse the enforcement agency which
made the arrest for the costs associated with such arrest. Such costs shall
include the reasonable cost of making the arrest, including the cost of any
chemical test made under this chapter to determine the alcohol or drug content

of the person's blood, and the costs of processing, charging, booking and
holding such person in custody. The enforcement agency may establish a
