N{ WHEREAS, the Sponsor is desirous of making the following improvements to the r` Jefferson City Memorial Airport: ;: 1. Repair and Seal Runway 12-30 (6,000 x 100'). ' flT . , 2. WHEREAS, the Sponsor has agreed to employ the Consultant to perforin the engineering services in preparing designs, construction plans, contract documents/specifications, tabulation of construction quantities, construction cost estimates, and for providing construction inspection and material testing services for the above-stated airport improvements. WHEREAS, while the Aviation Section of the Missouri Highway and Transportation Department is not a party of this Agreement,it will administer federal funds, review and approve documents, etc. The Aviation Section will be hereinafter referred to as MHTD. Although the ,x Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is not a party to this Agreement, FAA design and ' construction criteria and other requirements will be utilized unless specifically approved otherwise 4{' by MHTD. Coordinate project with Sponsor and MHTD. 2. Design Phase: a. Prepare Engineer's Design Report to include pavement design, engineer's opinion of probable construction cost,project budget and identification of deviation from FAA design criteria. b. Submit Engineer's Design Report to Sponsor and MHTD for review and approval. C. Arrange for access to and make all provisions for the Consultant to enter upon public and private property as required for the Consultant to perform his services. f, iJ'�i•?5 2. Assist in approvals and permits from all governmental entities having jurisdiction over the Project and such approvals and consents from others as may be necessary t x� for completion of the Project. . ty� • 4�r 3. Designate in writing a person to act as Sponsor representative with respect to the L services to be rendered under this Agreement. Such person shall have complete authority to transmit instructions,receive information,interpret and define Sponsor policies and decisions. 4. Give prompt written notice to the Consultant whenever Sponsor observes or otherwise becomes aware of any development that affects the scope or timing of Consultant's services, or any defect in the work of contractor(s), 5.
