ORDINANCE NO., 11825
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CI`T'Y OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, MAINTAINING
THE LEVY OF A GROSS RECEIPTS UTILITY TAX FOR THE CITY OF
JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AT ITS CURRENT RATE.
C' WHEREAS, The City of Jefferson, Missouri, presently has in place a gross
receipts tax; and
WHEREAS, The City of Jefferson, Missouri, recently received notification of
a tariff adjustment affecting Union Electric natural gas service; and
WHEREAS. Section 393.275 RSMo requires that the Council pass an
Ordinance maintaiiiing the Gross Receipts Utility Tax rate within sixty days of

the effective date of the tariff adjustment or rollback the rate to maintain revenue.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The gross receipts tax on utilities currently existing at the
;= following rates shall continue,in full force and effect:
5.65% gas, steam, electricity
7.00% telephone & telecommunication
Section 2. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force from and
after its passage.
