AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AMENDING THE
CODE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, BY CREATING A NEW
�+ SECTION 2-140 OF CHAPTER 2 AS IT PERTAINS TO ELECTED OFFICERS
TRAVEL AND REIMBURSEMENTS.
WHEREAS, It is deemed necessary from time to time to establish financial
policies to ensure the proper expenditure of funds; and
WHEREAS, Section 3.3 of the Charter of the City of Jefferson state that
Councilmen may receive reasonable reimbursement for actual and necessary
expenses as approved by the Mayor and Council, and Section 4.2 states that the
Mayor may receive reasonable reimbursement for actual and necessary expenses
as approved by the Council; and
WHEREAS, It is appropriate that a policy governing such expenditures be
determined and published.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
{ JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
°A. Section 1. Chapter 2 of the Code of the City of Jefferson, Missouri, is
hereby amended by addition of a new Section 2-140 to read as follows:
Sec. 2-140. Reimbursement of expenses.
A. Subject to approval as required under the Charter,
elected officials shall be reimbursed for expenses
according to established rules and allowances as set out
in the Personnel Policy Manual of the City. In addition,
elected officials may be reimbursed for attending or
hosting local meals during which official City business is
conducted.
B. No elected official shall be authorized to use a credit
card issued in the name of the City of Jefferson.
C. gavel. Elected officials who desire to attend meetings
and conferences may do so without prior approval
provided said funding is included within the current
approved'budget, and provided that if the travel expense
