JANUARY 17, R989
7:00 PM
Present were committee members Hormaechea, Engen, Williamson,
McCarty, and Collins. Also in attendance were Dripps, Jackson, and
Bud Schmidt.
Minutes of prior meetings will be reviewed during the next
meeting scheduled for January 31st.
Old Business:
#3 Fairway Construction:
Williamson motioned to contact Andy Laidlaw and request Andy
provide the committee a contract amendment with City for
construction of #3 Fairway. Andy will determine, along with
Jackson's assistance, specification documents by April 1st, bid
openings by May 1st. Engen seconded, all were in favor. The
motion passed unanimously.
Recognition to group donation of $50,000.00:
The committee agreed to keep this group up-to-date with
regular mailing to Alacano and Associates.
Clubhouse:
Hormaechea motioned to recommend to City Council delaying
construction of the Clubhouse for 1 year. The committee will
investigate new funding through a consultant specializing i this
field. Committee will stay in touch with City Council with
regard to future progress. Collins seconded. Two were in favor,
two were opposed. The motion did not pass.
Engen then motioned to contact a consultant to raise funds
for construction. A report will be given to the Committee at
March meeting. McCarty seconded. All were in favor, the motion
passed unanimously.
Williamson motioned to report to City Council with an
explanation re: past fund raising did not meet expectations. A
fund raising consultant will be hired for a period of time to
promote a stronger fund raising effort. Hormaechea seconded, all
were in favor. The motion passed unanimously.
New Business:
No new business was discussed.
The next meeting will be January 31st at City Hall, 7:00 PM
The meeting adjourned at 10:00 PM.
