Please advise this department whether the documents are complete and in order. The ordinance awarding the contract is scheduled for approval at the April 19, 1993 Council meeting. The preconstruction conference will be held Wednesday, April 21, 1993. The Notice to Proceed will be V' effective May 3, 1993, but the contractor may choose to begin work before that date. Failure to have requested an addendum covering any questions affecting the interpretation of the Plans and Specifications shall not relieve the Contractor from delivering the completed project in accordance with the cj intent of the Plans and Specifications to provide a workable project. 1113-4 QUALIFICATIONS OF BIDDERS The City of Jefferson may make such investigations as deemed necessary to determine the ability of the bidder to perform the work and the bidder shall furnish to the City all such information and data for this purpose as the City may request. IB-22 NOTICE TO PROCEED A written notice to begin construction work will be given to the Contractor by the City of Jefferson within ten (10) days after the Contract is approved by the City Council. The time for completion of the project shall begin to run on the date established in this notice. Rights-of-way and easements for permanent structures or permanent changes in existing facilities shall be provided by the City unless otherwise specified. GP-12.3 CONTRACTOR TO CHECK PLANS AND SCHEDULES The Contractor shall check all dimensions, elevations and quantities shown on the plans, and schedules given to him by the Engineer, and shall notify the Engineer of any discrepancy between the plans and the a conditions on the ground, or any error or omission in plans, or in the layout as given by stakes, points, or instructions, which he may discover in the course of the work. The Contractor will not be allowed to take advantage of any error or omission in the plans or contrW documents, as full instructions will be furnished by the Engineer should such error or omission be discovered, and the Contractor shall carry out such instructions as if originally specified. SUPERINTENDENCE AND WORKMANSHIP The Contractor shall keep on his work, during its progress, a competent superintendent and any necessary assistants. The superintendent shall represent the Contractor in his absence and all directions given to s r him shall be as binding as if given to the Contractor. 1 The Contractor shall provide proper tools and equipment and the services of all workmen, mechanics, tradesmen, and other employees necessary in the construction and execution of the work contemplated and outlined herein. The employees of the Contractor shall be competent and willing to perform satisfactorily the work required of them. Any employee who is disorderly, intemperate or incompetent or who neglects or refuses to perform his work in a satisfactorily manner, shall be promptly discharged.
