In the matter of the balance due on 1937 licenses by A.P.Solomon,
3rd, it was deciged that the Chief of Police be instructed to try
and collect something on account weeklquntil the account is paid up.
Mr. W.J.Flhod petitioned for the allowance of discounts on his
past due taxes, Councilman Tant moved that he be granted a 10%
discount on taxes #ue prior to 1938 and that he billowed 20% on
1938 taxes provided that all were paid by November 1, 1938.
Councilman Mayer seconded and the motion passed unanamously.
The following parties petitioned for the allowance of discounts
on their taxes;
C.J.Richards, Mrs. -.J Richards, C.J.Richards & E.G.Butler;
Mrs. Louise F.Toshach; Mrs. D.R.Bostwick; Mrs. Mary Byrnes;
Councilman Mayer moved that 10% be ~- aila#ed on:. diac odnta anztaxes
due prior to 1938 and that 20% be allowed on taxes due for 1938,
provided that all taxes were paid in full by November 1, 1938,
Councilman Tant seconded and the motion passed unanamously.
In the matter of placing the Library in a new location, Councilman
Haar moved that the Mayor appoint a committee, that will be authorized
to rent a place at not over $15.00 per month, for the use of the
Library, until a permanent location can be found, Councilman
Mayer seconded and the motion passed, Voting "Yes" Haar, Farrell,
Tant, Mayer, May; voting "K0" Kreitzer.
There being 'no further business Council adjourned subject to the

A special meetin of Council was held to -night at 8:00 p.m. in the
Council Chamber, and was Attended by Mayor McMillan, who presiddd,
and Councilmen Kreitzer, Farrell, May, Tant, Mayer and Haar.
The meeting was called to;
Receive bids on materials and equipment for beach
protection.
Discuss and act on any other matters pertaining to
beach protection that may come up.
Bids were opened for one large tractor and semi- taailer,10 ton
capacity, Councilman Haar moved that T.A.Bryson & Sons be awarded
the contract to furnish;
1 Mack model EE- 132-" wheelbase, and,
1 Model CP Great Dane, semi - trailer, 10 ton capacity
as per specifications, for the sum $ 2,101.18,
they being the low bidders,
Councilman Mayer seconded and the motion passed unanamously.

Bids were opened for one medipm type tracot and log- trailer,
Councilman Haar moved that the 1ulligan Motors, Inc., be awarded
the contract to
:furnish;
1 GMC truck, model T -16B, and
1 Great Dane Log Trailer, S#798,
as per specifications, for the sum of $1,569.04
Councilman Mpyer seconded and tae motion.: passed unanamously.
Bids were opended for one concrete mixer, Councilman Haar moved
that the contract be awarded to John D.Robinson Co, they being
the low bidders;as follows;
1 - 10S Master CMC concrete mixer, as per specifications,
for tote sum of $1,100.00
Councilman Mayer seconded and the motion passed unanamously.
lids were opened for furnishing 400, tons crushed stone, Councilman
Haar moved that 200 tonsbe purchased from the John G.Butler Co and
200 tons be purchased from the Stevens Supply, Co both being low
on the same quotation, 2.05 per ton less 2% -10 days, Councilman
Farrell seconded and the motion passed unanamously.
Bids were opened for furnishing 350 Cu. yds of river sand, Coun-
cilman Haar moved that same be purchased from the Southern Coal
and Supply Co, at .31% per yard less .02% per yard, they being
low bidders, CouncilmanTant seconded and the motion passe. unana-
mously.
Bids were opened for furnishing one jetting pump, Councilman
Farrell moved that the Georgia Supply Co, be awarded the contract
for furnishing one jetting pump, as per specifications, for the
sum of 3792.00, they being the lowest bidders, and subject to
acceptance after inspection on delivery, Councilman Mayer seconded
and t)e motion passed unanamously.
There being no further business Council adjourned subject to
the = 11 of the Mayor.

the Council Chamber, and was attended by Mayor McMillan, who
presided, and Councilmen Farrel., Mayer, May, Tant, Haar,
Major Wallace, F.M.LeHardy and Mr. C.R.Cook.
The meeting was called to;
Open bids and award contract for one Vibrating Machine
for the beach protection project.
Purchase supplies for the beach protection project .
