FEBRUARY 11, 1989
Meeting was called to order at
Hormaechea, Williamson, Collins,
attendance were Drips and Jackson.
5:30 PM. Members present were
Engen, and McCarty. Also in
Minute from previous meeting held on November 7th, January 17th and
January 30th were approved.
OLD BUSINESS:
Strategies and procedures with regard to fund raising and a
$450,000 revenue bond election to start construction of the new
clubhouse were the topics of discussion.
After careful consideration by the committee, Williamson made a
motion to recommend to the City Council to hold a revenue bond
election for $450,000, preferably during late May or early June of
1989, for the construction of the clubhouse, site improvements, and
golf cart storage. Secondly, Laidlaw will be asked to meet with the
committee at the next meeting to discuss and prepare a floor plan,
cart storage, and site preparations for preliminary cost figures for
the bond election. Hormaechea seconded, all were in favor. The
motion passed unanimously.
Following the discussion on a revenue bond election, the
committee discussed a request proposed for a fund raising consultant.
Engen later made a motion to the City to advertise in the local
paper to request proposals for a fund raising consultant. Responsive
proposals should be received at the City Clerk's office by 5:00 PM on
March 10th, 1989. McCarty seconded, 3 in favor, 1 abstention. The
motion carried.
Furthermore, the committee agreed that if the City accepts the
new floor plans from Laidlaw, the committee will contact present
donors and explain new plans and donors options.
The Committee has scheduled a meeting with Laidlaw on the 23rd of
February at Laidlaw's Office, 7:00 PM.
Next meeting following the February meeting will be held March
14th at city Hall, 7:00 PM.
