BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS: Sec ti_'on I. Section 16-1 of the Personnel Policy Manual is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 16-1. Resignations. (a) Notice required. Any employee who is in good standing may resign from the service by presenting his resignation in writing as contained herein. 1 Employees holding positions which are covered by the Fair Labor Standards Act in elassesassi.­ pay F (404 must present such notice of resignation not less than two (2)weeks k prior to the effective date. Employees holding positions which are exempt from coverage under the Fair Labor Standards Act in +iding-dewiFtm diFeeten , must present notice of resignation no less than four (4) weeks prior to the effective date. Such resignation may be withdrawn by the employee at any time prior to the effective date with the approval of the city administrator and department director. Department directors and city administrator must present notice of resignation no less than PA sixty (60) days prior to the ' effective date. Such resignations may be withdrawn by a department director or city administrator with the approval of the mayor and city council.. This section may be altered by a letter of understanding agreed to by the individual and the City. (b) Failure to Igive notice. Any employee who fails to provide notice as set out in paragraph (a) shall be deemed to have relinquished all accrued vacation time and compensatory time and shall no longer be eligible for any benefits related to payment for hours not worked including holiday pay. Section 2. Section 16-2(c) of the Personnel Policy Manual is hereby amended to read as follows: (c) City Administrator and_Department Directors. (1) If the city administrator or a department director is dismissed, that person shall be given thirty days written notice of the termination, $ice thirty (30) days severance pay, or a combination thereof equaling ninety sixty (60) days compensation. This section may be altered by a letter of understanding agreed to by the individual and the city. (2) If the reason for termination of the city administrator or a department director is embezzlement, fraud, or dereliction of duties, the individual will not be eligible for the notice period or compensation set forth in the preceding paragraph. Section 3.
