ORDINANCE NO. 11966
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AMENDING
SECTION 13-20 OF THE PERSONNEL POLICY MANUAL AS IT PERTAINS TO
SICK LEAVE.
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Jefferson adopted the Personnel Policy Manual
by Ordinance 11835 on December 14, 1992; and
WHEREAS, the sick leave policy has proven to be difficult to administer as written;
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI,
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The Personnel Policy Manual for the City of Jefferson, Missouri is
hereby amended by deleting the second paragraph of Section 13-2 of Article 13
which reads as follows:

Sick leave shall be granted immediately before or after any paid holiday or
paid vacation day only if the employee provides the department director with the
physician's written notice of medical reason the employee is not able to work or must
' avoid contact with co-workers. I£the employee does not furnish the required notice,
the employee's vacation or compensatory time balance shall be debited. If the
employee has no accrual of vacation or compensatory time, the employee may not be
` paid for the day off.
Section 2. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the
date of its passage and approval.
