AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, ESTABLISHING THE
POLICY ON PROVIDING THE MAYOR WITH AN AUTOMOBILE.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, AS
FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, the duties of the Mayor require travel within and without the City; and
WHEREAS, the City should bear the cost of providing necessary transportation to
the Mayor for official City business.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
JEFFERSON, MISSOURI:
Section 1. A new section of the Code of the City of Jefferson, Missouri,
establishing the policy on providing a vehicle for the Mayor shall be adopted to read as
follows:
section 2-141. City Vehicle Use ByMayor. The Mayor shall have the use
of a City vehicle throughout the term of the Mayor. The vehicle shall be
prominently marked as a City vehicle. All expenses associated with the
provision of the vehicle shall be reflected in the Mayor's budget, including,
but not limited to, fuel, insurance, capital costs and maintenance. The
vehicle shall only be used in accordance with Section 19-8 of the Personnel
Policy Manual.

passage and approval.
