HomeMy Public PortalAboutr 21-024Anolu#tou of fhe J�oxog4 of Gr #ere #, No #21-24 Date of Adoptio February 4 2021 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE AWARD OF A NON -FAIR AND OPEN CONTRACT FOR THE CARTERET POND DE -ICING SYSTEM WHEREAS, the BOROUGH OF CARTERET is In need of installation of a de -icing system for Carteret Pond as a non -fait and open contract pursuant to die provisions of N.J.S.A. 19r44A -20.4 or 20.5; and WHEREAS, Aquatic Analysis, Inc. has subtitted a ptoposal indicating they will provide these services for $12,483.00; and WHEREAS, Aquatic Analysis, Inc. has completed and submitted a Business Entity Disclosure Certification which certifies that Aquatic Analysis, Inc. has not made any reportable contributions to a political or candidate committee in the Borough of Carteret in the previous one year, and that the contract will prohibit Aquatic Analysis, Inc. from making any reportable contributions through the term of the contract, and' WHEREAS, the CFO has certified the availability of funds; and Account #: NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Carteret authorizes the CFO to enter into a contract with Aquatic Analysis, Inc. as described herein; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Business Disclosure Entity Certification and the Determination of Value be placed on file with this resolution. The enclosed invoices total $12,483.00. The estimate is for work completed by Aquatic Analysts, Inc. through January 25, 2021. This work includes the furnishing and installation of two (2) rotary vane air compressors, 1,200 linear feet of weighted de- icing tubing, and 1,200 linear feet of weighted air tubing installed at the pond In Carteret Park. The intent of the de -icing system to is to maintain a narrow area of unfrozen water around the perimeter of the pond, approximately 5 to 10 feet from the shoreline to discourage anyone from walking out onto the ice. Please advise the Parks Department that the air compressors installed within the Parks Department garage should be kept running at all times during the winter. Should the system be shut down, additional steps will be required to purge water from the system and resume normal operation. An as -built for the system are Included for your records. Our office is following up with the site contractor, S. Brothers, Inc. regarding the restoration of the trench between the pond and the Parks Department garage.
