AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, REPEALING
SECTION 4 , CONTAINED IN ARTICLE II, OF ORDINANCE NO. 9509,
RELATING TO ANIMALS RUNNING AT LARGE AND ENACTING A NEW SECTION
4 , ARTICLE II, RELATING TO ANIMALS RUNNING AT LARGE, PENALTY.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON,
MISSOURI, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 4 of Article II , Ordinance No. 9509,
is hereby repealed and a new Section 4 is enacted to read as
follows :
Section 4. Running at Large.
(a) It shall be unlawful for the owner of any
dog, pup, cat or kitten to let such animals run
at large.
(b) In the case of a conviction in Municipal
Court, the Court shall fine the owner of said
dog, pup, cat or kitten running at large the
following:
( 1) First offense - $25 fine
( 2 ) Second offense - within one year of
first offense - $50
( 3) Third and subsequent offense, within
one year of first offense - $75 fine
All such fines shall be a minimum fine and no portion of said fine
shall be suspended or stayed. Neither shall the Municipal Judge
suspend imposition of sentence .

SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after the date of its passage and approval.
