ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI, ESTABLISHING
LICENSE AND FEE REQUIREMENTS FOR SUNDAY LIQUOR SALES BY CERTAIN
ORGANIZATIONS.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JEFFERSON, MISSOURI,
AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Section 4-20 of the City Code is hereby amended
by adding one new subsection establishing license and fee
reauirements for Sunday liquor sales by certain organizations,
which shall read as follows :
Section 4-20(d) .
(1 ) Notwithstanding any other provisions of this chapter
to the contrary, any charitable, fraternal, religious,
service or veterans ' organization which has obtained an
exemption from -the payment of federal. income taxes as
provided in section 501(c) (3 ) , 501(c) (4 ) , 501(c) ( 5) ,
501(c) (8 ) , 501(c) ( 10) , 501(c) ( 19 ) , or 501(d) of the
United States Internal Revenue Code of 1954 , as amended,
may apply for, and may be issued, a license to sell
intoxicating liquor between the hours of 12:00 noon on
Sunday and midnight on Sunday by the drink at retail for
consumption on the premises described in the application.
(2.) All provisions of this chapter shall apply to
organizations licensed under this subsection.
(3 ) In addition to all other fees required by law of this
code, an organization licensed under this section shall
pay an additional fee of three hundred ( 300) dollars a
year, payable at the same time, and in the same manner,
as its other license fees .
Section 2. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
front and after the approval of the fee by the voters of the City.
